Choosing a Body Shop for a Porsche or Ferrari: What to Look For

By Canada Coachworks Admin·

On a £100k car, a poor repair isn't an annoyance — it's a permanent dent in the car's value and provenance. Whether you choose us or anyone else, here's what to look for before handing over the keys.

Seven things to check

  1. Marque experience. Ask what they've repaired recently. Aluminium-intensive and bonded constructions punish shops learning on your car.
  2. Colour capability. Special orders, PTS colours and tri-coats need spectrophotometer matching and spray-out verification — ask to see the process.
  3. Original-panel philosophy. A good shop saves original panels where possible; originality matters to future buyers and marque specialists.
  4. Material-correct methods. Aluminium needs dedicated tools; carbon needs composite knowledge. "We treat it like any car" is the wrong answer.
  5. Documentation. Staged photos of the repair protect your car's history file — and signal a shop with nothing to hide.
  6. Handling protocols. Seat covers, wheel protection, battery conditioning, enclosed storage. Small tells, big signal.
  7. Insurance independence. You choose your repairer, not your insurer — a shop working for you repairs to your standard, not a network cost target.

We're happy to be measured against all seven — it's how we've built a track record with £100k+ vehicles from Byfleet's doorstep. Our prestige repair service, or call 01932 988 161 to talk through your car.
