A fresh respray leaves our oven hard and glossy — but paint continues curing chemically for several weeks. Treat it right in the first month and it'll look freshly-done for years.
The first 30 days
- Hand wash only — and gently. No automatic car washes, whose brushes are the single biggest cause of swirled paint on any car, fresh or not.
- No wax, sealant or polish yet. Fresh paint needs to out-gas as it cures; sealing it too early traps solvents.
- Deal with bird lime immediately. It etches curing paint within hours on a warm day. Soak and lift — don't scrub.
- Park thoughtfully. Avoid tree sap, blossom and construction dust where you can.
After the first month
Once cured, protect the investment: a quality wax quarterly, or better, a professional ceramic coating applied over the flawless new surface — we can do this before you collect the car. Wash with two buckets and a microfibre mitt, and your respray will still turn heads years from now.
